Veteran Posts: 167 Location: Phoenix, AZ | Thanks for all your support. After surgery Carter was up quickly and wanted to sit up, crawl around, and be active. He was being his normal smiling self. It was very difficult to get him to lay still. After a few hours, with more morphine, he has been able to lay on his side. It has been about 7 hours now. I think I will need to switch sides soon. His cord was tethered pretty tightly which surprised the surgeon. He said that when he released it, it flew up so high in the spine that he lost it for a minute. I am so glad that this neurosurgeon looked at his spine again, otherwise we probably wouldn't have known until we flew to PA for the veptr that he was tethered. Thanks again for being such a great support system. Kristy

Expert Posts: 3243 Location: Utah | Kristy, Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear the surgery seems to be a success! Great news. I know what you mean when the doc is surprised about how tight the cord was. Snapping back like a stretched rubber band... yikes! But great it is released and he's doing well. Many more cyber vibes for a smooth and uneventful recovery.
